My favorite sanwhich in NYC: the Brando from Alidoro. More to come on this. Sorry for the awful pic, I’m with two amateurs.
CONTINUING ABOUT THE FABULOUSNESS OF ALIDORO:
I promised Jordan I wouldn’t blog about this treasure so it wouldn’t get overrun with people, but it’s just too good not to share. Alidoro is a small, Seinfeld “Soup Nazi” sandwich shop that uses the freshest ingredients to prepare huge classic Italian sandwiches. Homemade foccacia bread and mozzarella are just accessories for the pre-made sandwich combos including prosciutto, chicken, and turkey with arugula, 3 different kinds of peppers, artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, etc. You won’t find any mustard or mayo here, only drizzles of homemade Italian dressing. Fully constructed, the sandwich is a foot long of fabulous freshness you will eat in its entirety without feeling stuffed.
Unbelievably good. Get there early because once something (like the foccacia) is gone for the day, you’re SOL.
