Last night I thought about all of the people who opened my eyes to new things. I always tell them thank you, and they look at my like I’m crazy. But these simple pleasures have brought new perspective to my life. Things that make me smile, make me ponder, make enjoy life a little more.
Here are a few of the things I learned about, or should I say gained a new appreciation for in the last year, year and a half:
- Red wine
- White wine
- Central Air conditioning (hehe)
- The New York Times Sunday Edition
- Meet the Press
- Hard Knocks
- Mad Men
- Coconut Water
- Music, it needs two mentions, I’m pretty ignorant to the “good” stuff
- Los Angeles
- Indian food
- Gouda — that’s for you Megs…and the Indian
If you are open to looking at things differently, you will, and you will love the depth that exists in the simplist things.
But don’t just take the cookie and run. Say thank you to those who bring light into your life. They won’t realize what you’re talking about at the time, but once it sinks in, they’ll get it.
