Andy and I ate with the boys at Luau, a new “hot spot” on Canon across the street from Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. The same owners of Il Sole, a LA classic, opened the doors to Luau last October, but it doesn’t seem like their celeb clientele care to support the new venture.
The place was EMPTY on Friday night. Maybe it’s the cheesy Hawaiian decor or the “Pu Pu” platter that is scaring people off. But as someone who actually ate here, I can attest LA is not missing much. Their signature sea bass (above) is a dead ringer for Nobu’s black cod, and the other fare is nothing special.
Skip Luau. Your taste buds and your wallet will thank you.
