IT’S TIME FOR WINE. WHAT DO YOU BUY?? ::
Here’s the thing, I’m pretty amateur when it comes to the art of enjoying wine. All of my recent exes have been winos – I mean connoisseurs – so I always let them choose (and pay for! Good God it can get pricey) the good stuff. They would give me a few details so I could learn to distinguish the smells and flavors. I loved learning about it.
Wow, I’m off track. Here’s what I want to talk about: good wine that’s affordable. Because let’s be honest, we’re not throwing down anything over
$30 $20 for a bottle we’re drinking on the couch in our pj’s. And despite their best efforts, I never like the shopkeeper’s pick.
My current faves are:
- La Crema Pinot Noir
- La Crema Chardonnay
- Zaca Mesa Chardonnary
- Louis Jardot Pouilly Fuse
Now if I’m going for the big bargain, I pick up:
- Barefoot Chardonnay
- Barefoot Cabernet (gifted by Sarah – thank you for the intro)
- Columbia Crest Chardonnay
- Yellow Tail Shiraz
The tricky part is that your location makes a HUGE difference in price. La Crema in California is around $16. In NYC, it’s about $22. I would love to know a tasty Sav Blanc, Cab, and Pinot Noir that wouldn’t leave my mouth or wallet dry. I love French wines, but obviously Montrachet doesn’t qualify for my price specifications.
Let me know what you love for the taste and price. Email me!
(Another awesome photo by Andrew Flavin. According to his blog, he’s doing his taxes right now, red wine in hand. Poor guy. Can you do mine Andrew? I’ll buy the wine!)
