This weekend I’m having some friends up to New Canaan for a little BBQ.  Now, to most of you Yankees and SoCal surfers, that means burgers and hot dogs.  To a Texan (or any real Southerner) that means smoked meats, brisket, pulled pork, ribs. Real meat.

I’m not going to claim to know how to smoke anything or cook ribs properly, but I do know that marinading is a must and the sauce is integral.  So I shipped in one of the best Texas sauces, Goode Company Original BBQ Sauce ($3.95-$5.00).

To really get the full Texas experience, order one of their homemade pecan pies ($30).  I hate to admit it, but it’s WAY better than mine. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.  OMG it’s like heaven.
