Sexy Summer Skin
“The Beautiful Truth” by Jackie Danicki
Now that it’s tank top and shorts season, I can’t be the only one who’s become a bit more concerned about making sure any exposed skin is soft, glowing, and smooth. Here are three products I can recommend without reservation for getting your skin summer-ready.
In general, I find scrubs a messy hassle, but this one feels and smells so good that I have to remember not to over-exfoliate (once or twice a week is the max, or you’ll risk skin irritation). It uses jojoba beads to slough off dead skin, shea butter to soften, and vitamin E to protect. This stuff smells incredible, and rinses away much more
easily than a lot of scrubs. (If you shave your legs, you don’t need to use a scrub on that part of your body. Shaving is exfoliation enough.)
There’s more shea butter and vitamin E here, plus olive oil for a light, everyday moisturizing lotion. With all the perspiration one can give off in the summer, a heavy body lotion often feels like wearing another layer of clothing that can tend to clog
pores. For day to day use, I adore the fresh scent and just-enough
moisture that this lotion imparts.
This is hands down the best body butter I have used. It’s non-greasy, gives a subtle but gorgeous shimmer, and the blackberry, honey, and subtle vanilla blend smells like more of a fantasy than a dream. It may look like a container full of frosting when you open it up (which also makes me want to use it as often as possible), but the texture is pure, easily absorbed moisture. Bonus points: Along with Brazilian Murumuru and Cupuacu butters, coconut and avocado oils, Flirty Little Secret contains age-defying antioxidants from Cranberry and Acai oils.
