“The Beautiful Truth” — By Jackie Danicki

Scentual Summer Fragrances

I’m such a perfume junkie that I just can’t help myself. I’ve done
years of rigorous testing to find formulas that smell lovely without
attracting insects, and my three favorite fragrances for warm weather
are:

With notes of musky cotton flower, kashmir wood, and pomegranate, this is a fresh, light scent that never overpowers. Jade strikes an
impressive balance of being innocuous and unintrusive without being
forgettable.

Even you’re not a fruity, floral kind of girl, you should still check out
this mix of tangy grapefruit and rose; its musky note elevates Baby
Doll Paris to an unexpected level of sophistication. This also makes
it a great evening scent.

Kenzo Amour is the creation of Daphne Bugey and Olivier Cresp, and
features notes of cherry blossom, rice steam, white tea, frangipani,
heliotrope, thanaka wood, incense, vanilla and musk. That milky rice
note is comforting rather than cloying (anyone else had enough of
sickly vanilla scents to last a lifetime?), and the staying power
counts for a lot. Bonus: The bottle itself is a work of art.

If you really can’t do a full-on perfume in the summer, at least try a
nice, light essential oil.  I like Kiehl’s Grapefruit to make me feel finished.  When the evening is cool enough for you to let someone near you, you’ll be glad to have a nice spritz of something sexy on your skin.
