With everything going on in the world, I think it’s important we reflect on the purpose of this holiday and then celebrate our freedom as Americans. We enjoy rights that are not inalienable in other countries. These liberties should not be taken for granted.

However it is you choose to spend your weekend without the stress of work and the burden of your Blackberry, take a moment to enjoy your freedom of choice and pursuit of happiness.  Say a quiet thank you to those who fight to protect you and sacrifice their lives for others.  Be thankful the explosion of fire in the sky is a display and not a reign of terror.

Our freedom is worth celebrating.  We can only hope that others around the world will be able to experience peace soon.
