“Carbohydrates are key for performance.”

Athletes who take in more carbs than fat have greater endurance and involvement at the end of a workout (they can push harder for longer). For someone expending a lot of energy, carbs make your body work efficiently.

Protein should be consumed before and after exertion, but we don’t need as much as you would think.  Carbs are more important. Video to follow on this.
