In this episode of TMI weekly we offer you a few ideas on how to meet new people if you are looking for a social setting to facilitate introductions.

I go to two places: a quiet local bar* or the gym.  Both are leisure destinations and include people who have similar interests.  As Meghan points out in this episode, I’m outgoing and have no problem striking up a conversation with the person next to me.  Usually I’ll comment on something they are doing (drinking, reading, experience with the instructor of the class, etc).  People like to share their experiences so this is a good way to get them talking.

(*Note: Coffee houses do not serve the same purpose as a bar because people sit at their own table instead of at the communal bar.  Even if you don’t want an alcoholic beverage, bars can still be useful in meeting people.)
