Helping People Survive Sarcoma

October 9th, 2009 No Comments

The Catwalk for The Cure is one of Houston’s biggest events held annually to raise money for the Amschwand Sarcoma Foundation.

Sarcoma is a very rare and malignant form of cancer that doesn’t receive the attention or funding it needs for research, treatment, and support.

The Amschwand Foundation is a local organization that has raised over 1 million dollars that went straight to research and treatment.  They also offer housing for families while undergoing treatment so they can live normal lives.

The past two evenings, my dear friends hosted two events to raise money for the cause.  They procured designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka to show their stunning Spring 2010 collection (that was all the buzz at NY Fashion week) in order to sell out the event and raise a sizable amount of money for the Foundation.

Of course these events are always fun to dress up for and attend, but they also serve as a checkpoint for us to realize how good life is for us.
