Izo Cleanze

May 17th, 2010 No Comments

I’m starting a new cleanse tomorrow. It will be my first of the year (usually I do two).

These days I’ve been eating pretty poorly and drinking too much.  So much that I feel a little toxic.  So I’m excited to clean out my system and cells.

BUT, as it’s been so long since I’ve cleansed, I’m a little nervous.  I’m really not excited about the afternoon of day 1 when hunger sets in and day 2 when I get a crabby.  Day 3, on the other hand, is great because you’re body finally adjusts to the changes and you begin to enjoy a sense of freedom from processed sugar.

Technically, you’re supposed to clean up your diet a few days before you start, but I’ve just decided there are a few things I need to get out of the way before I hop back on my usual healthy bandwagon.  Yesterday, I took care of my queso and ‘rita cravings, and today, I’m finishing off the last drop of SECOND latte (my fingers are flying across the keyboard).

I’m excited to see how this juice cleanse compares to the my favorites BPC,Red Carpet (LA), and Organic Avenue (NYC).

If you’re thinking about cleansing, I highly recommend BluePrint Cleanse, and they’ll give you 15% off at checkout when you use the code MTMBPC.  The other two are delicious too, but a little more expensive and you have to live in their respective cities.

I’m trying IZO because they ship anywhere and every celebrity swears by it.  So we’ll see!

(Full disclosure: IZO is providing the cleanse for free.  Both BPC and Red Carpet provided free cleanses in the past.)

It’s part of the cleansing process.

Here is a video I did at Healing Waters in LA about getting a colonic.  You’ll see it’s not painful.  Admittedly awkward, but not so much to outweigh the benefits.

Now I’m going to have to find a clinic with the libbe machine here.

The IZO Cleanze is finally here!! Fedex brought it at 10:38am so I rushed home from my meeting to dig in. I’m starving!!!! I hope the juices are as good as BluePrint, RedCarpet, and OrganicAvenue…(Full disclosure: cleanse provided for free in exchange for my honest account of the experience.)

Eeew. It has ALOT of celery and parsley in it. I can’t stand either! I know they’re integral to the process. Every cleanse uses both in their green juices. This one tastes like the one from Organic Avenue, which I also can’t stand. There’s an almond milk shake later, but like you’re mom always said, you have to eat your veggies before you can have desert. Ok, down the hatch!

–later—

My body is going through sugar withdrawl.

I’m totally stuffed after 3 juices and a protein shake.  Like bloated full.

But I’m getting a liiiiiitle bit antsy.

Just part of the cleanse.

I’m actually really excited to appreciate the sweetness in raw food when this is all over.

I feel like I need to be juiced at this point. There was so much to take on in one day. And each bottle seems so hearty. I wasn’t hungry at all. I really couldn’t drink more than this. But..I gotta be honest the juices aren’t very tastey. It’s a chore to drink some of them. Although all of the other cleanses taste better (because they use more fruit), these really do fill you up quickly and for a long time.
