I agree with Leah on this one. If you want to round out your smoothie meal and fill up, grab a handful of raw nuts to eat with your smoothie.

If you’re set on using a powder, there are two notable benefits besides the protein:

  1. The fruit in the smoothie will taste so much sweeter.
  2. You’ll feel full and satisfied after a smoothie with protein powder.  If you just use fruit, you run the risk of being hungry in an hour and grabbing something packaged and loaded with sugar because you’re on the go.
