One of three armoires in my Mom’s house stuffed to gills with china, stemware, linens, crystal pieces, candles, napkin rings, you get the picture.
Tonight I’m setting the table for my Dad’s birthday dinner.
I’ve cleaned my china and Mom is letting me borrow a few accessories to complete my table. I used to have a small collection of my own, but they were given away or sold in all of my moves. Crystal tends to slow a gypsy down.
Off to get flowers!
A Place At My Table Head To Toe
- Fuschia spray roses
- Pottery Barn napkin ring
- Pottery Barn napkin
- Wedgewood “Wild Strawberry” china
- Gold charger from Macy’s
Mom started my china collection almost a decade ago, acquiring a couple pieces at a time. As you read earlier, setting the table has always been a passion of hers and she’s passed it on to me. Just like tying big bows on gifts. And I enjoy doing both so much!
But taking this concept a step further, “it’s all in the presentation,” right? And that tenet is applicable in everything you do, not just your career.
I’m not saying you have to dress up the table to have a nice dinner. My point is that a little effort goes a long way.Tweet this!
