Last night I turned on the camera in the middle of Playa del Carmen to give you a little taste of the town and peek into Fusion, my favorite local bar.
I shot this at sunset so the lights haven’t been turned on yet. When it’s lit up at night, the street lined with shops and restaurants is a pleasant street to stroll.
For a second I put my finger over the mic (sorry!). What I say is that Playa is Mexico’s interpretation of a European provincial town. It’s super touristy, but much nicer than other Mexican alternatives (Cabo, Cancun, Cozumel, etc) And when you have a local or tour guide (like me!) to help you stay out of the tourist traps, you can have a truly unique experience for Mexico.
I’ll post my guide to Playa with my pictures soon. If you’re considering a tropical winter vacation, you should absolutely consider Playa – it’s as beautiful as the Caribbean, but easier to access and cheaper!Tweet this!
