A quick fix from Dr. Patronella

August 19th, 2010 No Comments

I’m shooting up again.

Today I went to Dr. Patronella’s office in Houston to refill my Botox, Restylane, and Perlane.  Listen, I don’t have a problem with aging, I would just like to do it gracefully.

I’ve been getting Botox consistently for three years now.  Despite how many people are shocked that someone so young is demented enough to think she “needs” it, I continue to talk about my experience in hope that you will see the procedure is nothing to be ashamed of (everyone gets wrinkles) and should not be stigmatized like it used to be.  I am just taking the bull by the horns and hoping that these measures now (along with a healthy lifestyle) will prevent a face lift later.

You use some sort of anti-aging cream I’m sure.  This is similar (and depending on your brand, can be comparable in price).   Mine is just proven to work.

I get the Botox to fill the trenches (aka wrinkles) in my forehead and keep them from getting deeper.  Around my eyes, small crows feet are forming, so I have the injections there to slow the progression of those lines.  Perlane is injected in my nasolabial lines for the same reason.  As for the Restylane under my eyes, that’s more of a luxury because it decreases the dark circles and helps soften the bags.

The difference between Perlane and Restylane is that the former is thicker and lasts longer.  Thin skin, like under your eyes, calls for a less aggressive filler, like Restylane.

(Full disclosure: Dr. Patronella offers a media discount for the service.)
