Delicious Dish: My famous chocolate pie!

This pie is super simple and always the crowd favorite.  It tastes like brownie batter – so yummy!  The best part is, you can’t over or under cook it because the more gooey the better.

You’ll need:

  • 3 sticks of butter
  • 6 heaping tbsp cocoa
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 tbsp flour
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla
  • 2 unbaked pie crusts (in refrigerated cookie section)
  • (pecans optional)

Here’s what you do:

-Preheat oven to 350.

-Melt butter and cocoa in microwave. Stir well.

-Beat eggs, sugar, and flour in a separate bowl.

-Add warm cocoa-butter  mix to above.

-Add vanilla.

-If you want, add pecans, about a two cups.  This recipe makes two pies; I usually pour one pie in without nuts, then add about a cup of nuts to rest of mixture and pour into second pie shell.

-Line pie pans with crust.

-Bake for about 20 minutes until the middle is sturdy, a little jiggle is ok.  Cover with foil and bake for 5 more minutes.
