I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday season surrounded by those you love.
Now it’s time to get back to “the grind” as they say.
Amidst all of it though, I think this year we should focus on what really makes us happy. I truly believe that if you are happy, then you will have more to give those around you.
I believe the visiting pastor hit the nail on the head in his sermon tonight. To summarize:
We are on a journey
A pursuit of happiness
To fill the voids in ourselves.
What we go after should be the things that really matter.
On our way, be humble, worship, and give to others.
Our resident Pastor Chis then offered:
Those that seek will find.
I tell my riders this every single class I teach. Happiness involves some serious work, but it’s out there for us if we really want it, if we work hard for our goals.
Finally (this is the part I always need to be reminded of) Chis advises:
Allow yourself grace.
We are going to make so many mistakes in the coming year. I beat myself up all the time about mis-placed words, wrong steps, and unnecessary impatience. But I am always trying to find the grace for myself that I give others.
Best wishes to all of you in 2011. Here is to your happiness.Tweet this!
