Where the cool kids hang out in Brooklyn

February 11th, 2011 No Comments

Brooklyn! Brooklyn! Brooklyn! I get it, it’s the hottest place to be even when it’s freezing outside.

Unfortunately the hipster border patrol wouldn’t let my bleach blonde, Ugg wearing butt over the bridge, so I’ll defer to one of my most trusted sources Sam Sifton of the NY Times to fill you in on the local favorite spots.

Check out his weekend guide slide show here.

He mentions 2 of my favorite spots – Blue Bottle Coffee and Blue Ribbon – so I bet the other shops and museums wouldn’t disappoint either.  I know once I got to Williamsburg or Park Slope I would love exploring, but I’ll be honest, I was just lazy about the “trip” over there.

The ex-head of Michelin’s restaurant guide, Jean Luc Naret, raved endlessly about the Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare and awarded it 2 stars this year which is kind of unheard of for a place so small and remote. (Read the NY Magazine review here.) In other words, this little eatery is just what I needed to motivate to spend a day over there this summer and see what I’ve been missing.

If you have a favorite spot I should hit up, leave it in the comments below.  Thanks in advance.
