Great, thanks! I have a few, but if he can answer any of the below, that’d be awesome!

    1) I need to lose about 10 more pounds (lost 40 in the past 1.5 years, whoo!) and it seems like the remaining weight I want to lose is in the stomach/love handles area. Many people (i.e., Mary’s recent blog post!) have said that cardio is the best way to lose stomach fat (and intervals, specifically) but is there any use in doing some abdominal exercises at all? It feels strange to neglect them when I’m doing other strength exercises.

    2) Is it worth hopping around to the different strength machines at the gym? If so, which are best? Is there a way to tell the difference between “ouch it hurts to do this much weight and I’m probably straining something” and “ouch it hurts but it’s because it’s supposed to”?

    3) I currently do bicep curls and a tricep exercise (not sure what it’s called, but you lower the weight behind your back) – but I see various types of free weight exercises being done at the gym by different people. What’s the best?

    4) 1 hour of spinning leaves me ravenous for the rest of the night. I don’t like to deprive myself of eating when I’m actually hungry, so I don’t, but consuming hundreds of calories (even if they’re from multigrains, fruits, lean protein, etc.) seems counterproductive. Any tips?

    5) Finally, any recommendations on good resources for this sort of information? It seems there are so many varied opinions on exercise (a simple google search can reveal many very conflicting opinions on a topic) and I never know where to get reliable information from.

Thanks so much, Mary + trainer! :)
