When I buy herbs in the store or at the farmer’s market to cook with, I always end up with more than I need. So here are some ways I’ve found to use the extras.
* Whip up herb butter.
Just chop up whatever you have left and mix them into softened butter. Roll it up in parchment paper or saran wrap and freeze it. Open it up and store in the fridge.
* Tie up an herb brush.
I just read about this one. Tie your herbs onto skewers and use it to apply marinade to meat.
* Make a fragrant arrangement.
Throw in your extra springs with flowers that don’t smell. It’s a nice change of pace from the sweetness of lilies or roses.Tweet this!
