You know I’ve been looking for alternative forms of exercise! Well, today Renee and I gave pole dancing a shot for the first time after bikram yoga.
It’s easier than you think, but painful! Grabbing the pole with my ankle began to hurt, my forearms were chaffed and beet red, and I got dizzy almost instantly. You need serious upper body strength and have to be willing to move your body in a way that doesn’t just come naturally.
I know the pictures are terrible, but you’ll have to wait until I get to be a little more graceful before I post a video :)
We were all in agreement not to retake this pic below because the dim lighting and fuzziness was a good shield for our sweaty hair and bare faces.
Everyone in the class – women of different ages and sizes- was a beginner and could do multiple moves after only a couple sessions. There was no shame in our inabilities and weaknesses, only smiles and support.
