Over the past month or so I’ve been going through the motions in terms of my workouts, begrudging each one instead of enjoying them, wishing I could just NOT go to the gym.
Now, I CAN’T exercise and I can barely stand it!
Last week I pulled something in my neck and shoulder while I was sleeping and it has yet to go away. At the onset of the pain last Sunday morning, I took the day off from working out to give my body a day of rest. One day turned into 8. I’ve been to my sports massage therapist twice and sleeping in a “supported position.” The combination of all three has been helping, but I’m far from healed. Thankfully my lower body is functioning so I can ride the reclined bike and today I’ll try to walk on in the treadmill.
Is it time to go to the doctor? Possibly. Not that I have any idea who to see in Atlanta….
A little more imposed rest, a little more tortuous massage, a little more recovery time should be enough to heal. I hope.
