Since I have to abstain from lifting weights and doing pretty much anything with impact (due to my pesky neck injury), I need to know what you’re up to in terms of exercising.  In the gym.  Outside.  At the studio you go to.  What are you loving??  What’s “working” for you to reach your goals?  What are your current goals?  What are you really annoyed with?

Let me know in the comments below and I’ll add commentary, make a video, respond in some way on the blog in the following weeks.

If you’d prefer, you can write me via email Mary@MoreThanMary.com, @MaryRambin on twitter, on facebook, or this same post on tumblr.

Ok, so, what’s up?

  • Hi Mary. I’m sorry to hear about your neck but I hope your new year is going well in spite of that.

For me, the biggest challenge is always motivation. But once I overcome that my workout can be pretty intense.

First: Treadmill. I’ll do a 2 minute walk on an incline of 6, then upping my speed to a run for a minute and again a 2 minute walk.

Second: I hit the elliptical at a level 10 for a half an hour, setting it to aerobics so I get a good workout.

Finally, I’ll work on all the pesky bits – arms, abs and thighs.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Mary! Love your blog. At the gym I’m currently trying to do a lot of ab/ass work. But I hate squats! I have weak knees/ankles and they are just painful for me. Any alternatives that provide a similar core workout? My trainer insists they are the only way. I don’t want it to be true! :)
