My mom spoiled me with delicious sheets growing up. Crawling into her bed now is the most cozy place on the planet, in my opinion. Somehow, she goes to Tuesday Morning and picks out the absolute softest sheets without having any background on the brand. Of course she’s guided by thread count and price point – the higher in both cases should lead you to better quality – but we all know that can be deceiving.
I’ve tried to go to Tuesday Morning and get the deal for sheets. It NEVER works out for me. I’ve even had her pick them out, and they still don’t feel as soft.
Now I have a fool proof option for us. I wish I could take the credit for the find, but applause goes to Andy for this one.
James Perse makes super soft bedding with a very unique design. The fitted sheet is jersey; the duvet cover is jersey on the underside and regular cotton on the top. This way, you actually don’t need a flat sheet to go in between! Control the heat of the bed with the weight of your duvet. Mine is super light since I live in California and it’s warm all year round.
Trust me when I tell you, you slip into bed, and it’s like you’re sleeping inside a cloud. I’ve converted several friends who aren’t into jersey with these sheets.
I’ll admit they’re pricey, but so are the nice sheets at Tuesday Morning. I feel like since we use them everyday, JP sheets are worth the splurge. Take or leave the pillow cases.
Btw, this is my sweet and very single friend Andy. Should you know a fabulous gay man who appreciates nice sheets living in the LA area, please send him our way (email me: Mary@MoreThanMary.com).
