Before she was the “Sexy Siren” of Hunger Games

Leven Rambin before Hunger Games

Before she was the “Sexy Siren” starring in Hunger Games as Glimmer, Leven was my cutie pie little sister!

Well, she still is, but she’s so grown up now!

It’s so funny, we she was really little, she was super shy.  Then, she hit middle school, and all of a sudden she was the star of the school plays. One demo reel later,  she was instantly off to LA for audition season. She landed her second audition ever for All My Children at age 14.  It feels like it happened so fast.  She’s been working consistently on tv (Grey’s Anatomy, Terminator, Scoundrels, etc) ever since.  Quite a career in 7 years.  So proud of my Nin!!!

How excited are you to see the book come to life?

If you’ve read the book you can understand why it’s going to be hard for me to watch the Games….

I finally found the perfect mother’s day card

I finally found the perfect Mother’s Day card!

Most of my friends like my mom more than me, so I’m glad I don’t have to fight the through the crowd.  She has a sense of humor that won’t quit and the most infectious spirit.  It’s really hard to be in a bad mood around her!!

Honestly, I am blessed to have not one, but two amazing mothers. Kind and supportive, unconditionally forgiving, patient beyond belief, and brutally honest, both my mom and stepmother are my source of strength.  When I reach out, they are there with nothing but love and a helping hand. I couldn’t live without either.

Today, I honestly feel like it’s my day…I am the benefactor from all of their love and there is not one material thing I could buy to reciprocate that.  I just hope they know that I want to be the same source of love and support that they are for me.

Thank you Mom.  Thank you Karen.  I love you xxx

Leven landed not a movie – THE movie!

April 19th, 2011 2 Comments

I AM SO SO SO PROUD of my sister Leven for all of her success at such a young age.  At 14 she signed a 4 year contract on All My Children, moved on to The Terminator, Grey’s Anatomy, and then a leading role on Scoundrals.  I shouldn’t forget One Tree Hill and CSI: Miami. Now, right before her 21st birthday, she’s booked her first major movie – Hunger Games! If you’re a fan of the books, you know she’s perfect for Glimmer.  The triology is said to be the next big hit for Hollywood.

Big hug and congrats to you Nin!

Out in LaLa Land she leads a pretty interesting, always changing, never boring life.  Keep up with her on twitter!

(The pic is from 2006 when I just moved to NYC and we were living together.  Needless to say, I’ll never forget that summer.)

Merry and oh so mellow

January 2nd, 2011 No Comments

My holiday was fabulously low key:  A couple parties here and there, dinners at home with family, movies at the theater, and a lot of R&R.

Thank you to all of my family and friends for making this a lovely holiday season and a wonderful 2010.  Your love and support means the world to me. x

So proud of my Nin!

My beautiful, talented, and BRILLIANT sister just scored a new role on CSI: Miami. Read about it here.

True talent when you have to act with David Caruso and not laugh when he does that dramatic head turn and pulls down his glasses.  Haha.

As always, so proud of you Leven! (and ridiculously envious of your amazing hair)

BTW, you should follow her on Twitter, she’s always up to something fun in LA.

Check out the Trojan pride in south Texas. Definitely not trendy, so it’s the only USC hoodie you’ll see around here. Very proud of my girl!

Black Friday Steal!

November 26th, 2010

I scored the best Black Friday deal without having to throw an elbow or wait in line.

Sara and Joanne are having a garage sale and just so happen to have 2 things I actually have been looking for: a crock pot for winter roasts and vintage jelly jars I use as glasses.

We were talking about it…what deal is so good people feel the need to set up tents outside of Target a day before the sale?! Is it worth $200? $400? off a tv? Just unbelievable to me.
