Understated and elegant or excessive?

November 13th, 2012 No Comments

Did you catch Ceelo’s watch on The Voice last night? All gold, yellow diamond-crusted face, gigantic and uuuugly! Must weigh a ton and cost at least a VP’s year’s salary.

Excessive is an understatement.

Dolce & Gabbana released a line of limited edition styles with 18 karat hold accents. Subsequently these frames are $595.

I don’t know about you, but I’d rather pay $395 for gold plate wrapped in plastic. ($195 is more like it, but that’s another issue).

So even though these Dolces are elegant, my vote is excessive.

These glasses bring up another issue for me as well. I haven’t seen anything new or interesting in the sunglasses market. I’m bored of my favorite (wait, second favorite) accessory! I guess that’s why there is a need and consumption for real gold accents.

On the bright side, I can wear my current collection and save about $700 a year. :)

Not a Fan… Though I liked the lips…

June 2nd, 2008 No Comments

Although I was not a fan of Lindsay Lohan’s Dolce and Gabbana ensemble last night, she was sporting the nude lip, which seemed to be a favorite amongst all of the celebs.

I understand it as a fashion statement, but for everyday, I think you need a little more color to not wash yourself out.  Or at least a little shine.

If you want the nude lip, I suggest adding Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipgloss in “Shine City”. You can find it in any drug store, or click the link for a discount.

I put the gloss over all lipsticks and glosses I wear.  The trick to getting it to stay on is to NOT RUB YOUR LIPS TOGETHER!

All Decked Out in D & G

Scarlett was not only decked out in Dolce and Gabbana, but arrived with the boys as well.  That’s pretty much priceless. Wonder if they will be designing her wedding gown?

I’ll admit this ballerina look is not for her. In fact I haven’t seen anyone really pull it off.  I prefer Kristin Davis in Michael Kors above.
