TIED UP

A reader sent me a link to this post.

Trying to decide whether or not I’m into this or not.  I like the outfit as a whole.  Really wish he had shaved and brushed his hair.  Or even just brushed his hair before he got into the silk suit.

I think unique fashion choices have to FIT your personality.  You can’t just put this on.  You must have adventurous style and wear it with confidence.

But if he were my date, I would rather him be in a traditional, clean cut tux.

Other commentary:

  • My Aunt: “I like it…is he gay?”
  • My Mom: “I don’t like it, he looks girly.”

To each his own!

Ribbon as the new bowtie? So very… Victorian. Ribbons are one of the last remaining female-only accessories – let us keep them!

MEN’S STYLE TIP OF THE DAY: SWIM IN STYLE

MEN’S STYLE TIP OF THE DAY: SWIM IN STYLE

Men’s Style.com says men need to trash the board shorts for some trunks with a little more class.  I’m in total agreement (as Julia would say), but this above option by Parke & Ronen (for $90) is going a little far.  Like the plaid, but do we have to revert back to 70’s nut huggers??

Although I find the ballet kinda boring, I have a huge respect for the dancers and their craft. To see more from American Ballet’s Matthew Murphy, click the pic.

MUST HAVE FOR SUMMER: FULL-LENGTH SUN DRESS

MUST HAVE FOR SUMMER: FULL-LENGTH SUN DRESS

I love that the full length dress is back in.  Truly feminine and very forgiving, the full-length dress comes in a silhouette that flatters everyone. In a solid color or fun print, you can’t go wrong.

Honestly, I tried to find some affordable ones online at ShopBop, Revolve, Big Drop, Blue Fly, CoutureCandy, etc, but everything is over $200.  Old Navy is usually a good source for this style, but their online selection was pathetic.

The pictured dress is TBags from Revolve for $250. But if you are looking for a prettier price tag, try Forever 21 or H&M.

Umm…no you didn’t, I did!

Umm…no you didn’t, I did! If I’m going to get made fun of for not being up to speed in the tech world AND for using a Dell, I think I deserve credit for the small stuff.

Patchwork

March 27th, 2008 No Comments

Style.com advises that patchwork will spice up your life for spring.

I disagree.  While madras shorts offer color and comfort for men this year, I’m not into the Raggedy Anne look for women.

Above is Prada looking atrocious.  I pulled a pair of black silk Prada pumps with a pink rose heel for Julia’s Time Out shoot, but the rest of the shoe is just too much.

For more patchwork, check out Shopper on Style.com.

A ZIT, OH MY

A ZIT, OH MY

I have a zit, ugh.  It must be the traveling.

Heft introduced me to her remedy and it’s by far and away my favorite:

Proactive Refining Mask

And apparently the people at Acne.com agree.

You can get it free with purchase or free trial of the Proactive System or buy online.
