Behind the Scenes

February 4th, 2008 No Comments

This is the detailed description of each outfit that is placed on every seat so that writers can take notes on what they see. From this rundown I don’t expect to be blown away. Although, as crticial as we may be, it is no easy feat to put on a show, espcially at Bryant Park.

We Need to Give Credit When Due

Models find their name and put the clothes on as they see in the picture….it’s actually a lot more complicated, we need to give credit when due

Chrissy and Company

February 3rd, 2008 No Comments

Just as I thought I was being a slacker for taking the first few days off of fashion week, I realize that I have just sat down to dinner with model Chrissy, in house model and MUSE for Oscar de La Renta. (You know her closet is enviable!)

With no makeup, an American Apparel T, and jeans, she was as stunning as she is on the catwalk (ok, the gowns do add a little something, but you get the drift).  And unlike some other beautiful people, who you just know think their armpits smell sweeter than every one else’s, you knew instantly that she was going to be a delightful person.  And she truly is.  She has been with her boyfriend since high school, with Oscar for several as well, and at the ripe old age of 24 (of which she looks 18 of those years), she is truly well-rounded and a joy to chat with.

The other couple were models as well, both unbelievably stunning, and like Chrissy, wonderful people.

I am writing this because I think models get a bad wrap for being pretentious and prissy.  And, like most stereotypes, this one exists for a reason.  But I find that more often than not,  people don’t fit their “category” and I always find that refreshing.
