Procrastination Destination – Save The Words

Procrastination Destination – Save The Words

Those smarty pants over at Oxford have decided to open up their hearts and heads and share their infinite wisdom of the English language with us.  My tone sounds snarky, but it’s meant to be tongue in cheek.  The website SaveTheWords is pretty cool.

Scroll over an endless collage of words you’ve probably never heard before that are begging for you to adopt them into your conversations. “Pick me, pick me,” they say.

My word today – icasm – a figurative expression.  I’ll absolutely use that one.

It’s fun, it’s free.  Distract yourself and actually be educated at the same time.  Much more productive than watching that ridiculous orange.

Is it bad I want the man I marry to make this for me in the morning ;)

caryrandolph posted the pic and said:

This is a “breakfast pizza” for The Man I Will Marry, as featured onSmitten Kitchen. TMIWM, I will make this for you every Sunday morning ‘til death do us part (provided you promise to always carry the beach chairs). Culinary enlightenment courtesy of and also.

Who am I kidding?  I’m a southern girl who would gladly bake her man pizza for every meal!  (I hope he likes veggies on top ;)

Delicious Dish – Vegan Blueberry Raspberry Muffins

Don’t these muffins look delicious?!!

I found them on reader De’s cooking blog called “Cooking For The Other Half” (cute name!) that focuses on a vegan and veggie lifestyle. She’s has atumblr too.

For these Blueberry and Raspberry muffins, she’s transformed a Emeril recipe to be vegan.  Click here to see the whole post where she tells you her tricks in making normal recipes vegan.

Blueberry Raspberry Muffins

You will need…

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp margarine, softened
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp freshly grated lemon peel
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp flax seeds + 6 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup margarine, melted
  • 1 cup regular soymilk
  • 1 tbsp freshly grated lemon zest
  • 3/4 cup raspberries
  • 3/4 cup blueberries

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a muffin tin with liners or grease.
  • To make the topping, mix together the first five ingredients in a bowl until crumbly. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  • In a larger bowl, mix together flaxseeds and water until combined. Add melted margarine. Add soymilk and lemon zest; whisk to combine. Add dry ingredients to the wet and stir until just combined. Gently fold in the berries. Spoon mixture into muffin tins and top with streusel topping.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.

Dearest Tatiana,

Thank you so much for this post.

I have totally forgotten how much I love target.

I finally had to let go of my third Bendels makeup bag and I’m tired of spending $50 on a plastic POS that only lasts 3 months (my travel wears it out).  Target has much more affordable options.

AND, with your link to the new collection, I continued on to check out their Modern Home furniture that has the right look and price for this gypsy who isn’t ready to buy couture for her casa.

Many thanks!

(catching up on my dashboard can be so much fun!)

I’m realizing more and more that I can literally get EVERYTHING I need at Target. That makes me happy because that means I can get everything I need at an affordable price and in one trip! Maybe that’s why I can’t get out of there without spending at least $50!

I recently had to retire my toiletry bag, it had definitely seen better days. I knew Target would have something new and spiffy and they sure did! I picked up this gorgeous aqua colored one but there were many others that I loved just as much. And all of them are under $20!

P.S. Here’s a little Target tip for you: on Tuesday they got a new home decor collection and the theme is “Keep calm and carry on!” Check it out here.

The graph shows here that everyone, especially women, love when Obama snaps his fingers & whistles Mac the Knife

It’s actually more amusing to see what I missed on tumblr than to head straight to CNN.

Tom, you’re hysterical!

McCain: Tom thats just silly. My friend, we all know computers can’t talk, stop messing with me.
