Schanz up your sweats

December 13th, 2011 No Comments

Andy and I have the same secret for dressing up our sweats to be acceptable daytime attire: a scarf. It’s a nice finishing touch that somehow pulls your outfit together. Plus, it keeps you warm :)

This is the only pic I have of me right now in my sweats with a scarf. But if you scroll down this page, you’ll see a few more. It’s my daily uniform! The tie dye scarves I wear are by Simply Twisted (around $99 at Tootsies).

And finally, a shout out to ME (above). Miss you lady!

The most important thing you’ll wrap around your neck this winter is a scarf, so why not have a little fun with it?  These guys are all using scarves for the practical purpose of keeping warm, but they use the color, the knot, and the style of the scarf to display their personal style.

Have fun as you “deck your neck” with different styles of scarves.  There are so many to choose from that there’s no reason your scarf shouldn’t say something about yourself or stand out from your outfit a little bit.  I like to keep as many scarves nearby as possible because it’s a fun way to switch up your outerwear.  I have an extensive collection ranging in length, pattern, and color…some are quite the “statement pieces” the can spice up any boring winter coat.  Some of my scarves have even caught Mary’s attention.

The scarf I can’t get enough of this year is actually a vintage fur scarf that I found at Sazz Vintage (my favorite vintage store in Philadelphia).

Before you know it, you’ll be using scarves to accessorize all your outfits.  They can add a little something extra to simple outfits like a henley tee and leather jacket.
